Hi,

I got me a Zire 72, with expired warrenty. The battery seems to go
crazy on me. After charging, the battery seems to be drained very fast.

Is there any place where I can have the battery replaced?

Thanks.

It might be worth trying an "in-cradle reset" if you haven't tried that.
Basically, this is accomplished by hooking the device up to the cable
(or cradle), waiting for it to start charging, and then using a paperclip
or similar on the reset button on the back panel. This type of reset
resets the device like a normal soft reset but additionally resets the
charging circuit. It's a good first thing to try if your battery
doesn't seem to be taking a charge or holding a charge.

If that doesn't fix it, and if you feel comfortable taking apart the
device, you can buy a replacement battery from www.gethightech.com
for about $30 and install it yourself.
