I am thinking about repalcing my GeForce3 Ti500 with the 9500 pro. I wonder if I will get good bang for the buck or wait until the 9700 pro drops in price. Any thoughts?

Good question. The 9700 Pro should drop around $75 in around 5 weeks.

The Geforce 3 is still a very usefull card. If you feel like it, then wait for the 9700Pro to drop.

consider the 9700 non-pro

its only marginally slower than the 9700pro, and cheaper. it also will come down in price a bit in the near future...

the 9500pro WILL be quite a bit faster than the Ti500.. altho the GF3 is still a decent card for present games (my friend gets low fps in UT2002 unfortunately, on an athlon 1600)

the 9700 compared to the 9500pro.. the 9700 will be able to run games at a higher resolution and still maintain a blazing framerate, while the 9500pro will fall short quicker.
the 9500pro and the 9700 both have the same chip tho. so geometry performance will be almost identicle, fillrate will probably be the only differing factor between them

im going to get a 9500pro.. the price is right and its fuking fast
... IMO better than the Ti4600 because of its superior geometry power, a good 2x faster than the GF4 line, and THATS what will be important in future titles like Doom3 and C&C Generals
