Radeon 8500 black&white!

I have a Powermagic radeon 8500Le card with TV-out. My problem is that I haven't found a way to get color picture using composite video. I'm using latest drivers from ATI and I'm using the cables (including "s-video to composite") that came with the card! Please, help! My tv is SONY Trinitron (1995) with composite RCA input but no support for s-video...

In the ATI display panel you'll find a burried option called S-Video Sharpness. The choices are Less, Standard, More, and Black and White. The last would turn your TV display to black and white

Also in the ATI display panel, make sure the format is set to the correct television format for your country. Don't know what you would see if it is set to NTSC by mistake.

One last thing, your adapter could be broken. See if one of the S-Video pins is bent or broken. If the Chrominance pin was damaged you would only get black and white. The adapter could be broken internally as well.
