I need advice about whether to return my radeon 9500 pro.Basically it seems mostly fine, i just don't think it is performing as well as it should be.I get around 12k in 3d mark 2001 so that obviously thinks nothing is wrong but something just doesn't seem right. Is it possible that it could be dodgy even though it performs well in 3d mark?
The main thing i notice is that in games like mafia you get little glitches. For example, when i am running at 1024X768 @ 32 bit with all settings on high it looks good but when you turn around quickly you notice lines in the display.Even on lower settings on other games i get the same kind of thing.I just assumed it should be perfectly smooth since it is a £150 card.
Can anyone give me any advice?

Verify your monitor first- make sure it can handle your card and the settings. Also do you have the problem when you turn the card settings down?? If so- contact your cards customer support- you might end up RMA'ing it.

Good luck

I had glitches in Mafia on my 9700. Just stopped playing it anyway. Werent serious tho that was for sure.
Didnt happen on my GF3 tho.

12k is VERY good for 9500 I would say.

I got 12674 on 9700 Pro.

My prob is now the one I have just posted :-(

that is the problem.the glitches are not serious so if i send it back they will say that there is nothing wrong with it and then they charge £25 to send it back.i'm really stuck now because of that coz i don't want to return it for that reason but it just isn't performing right.i used to have a 9000 and it doesn't seem much better.

Where did u buy it? Most mom and pop shops will allow you to exchange it and then they deal with the RMA (at least Sneakers in Victoria does). Future shop will allow you to return it within 30 days (tested that theory more than once myself).
