Laptops for work and gaming

Hello,

I am looking for a laptop for my son and I have found 2 whichlook ideal to me, he is 14 and will use he laptop for homework and gaming and I would like to get something which will last a couple of years?

The confsuing bit for me is the graphics can you tell me if either of these are any good? ad if so which is best? He plays games iek total war Shogun 2 and Starcraft 2

1) Intel Core i5, 2.6GHz, 6GB RAM, 1TB+32GB SSD
Graphics card - NVIDIA® GeForce® 610M
Graphics card Video RAM - 1GB
2) Intel Core i5, 2.5GHz, 8GB RAM, 1TB
Graphics card - Intel HD Graphics 4000
Graphics card - Shared
The difference in price is £50

For gaming, I would give both of those a miss. I'd be looking for a laptop with a meatier graphics card like a Geforce 640M, Radeon 7670M as a starting point. These will run most of todays games, but not all. The most demanding games would be laggy or won't run at all.
