Ohh! and please ask your friend to see if the software can be detected by the cable company.

Well it does not hurt to ask.

It is software we are dealing with and it might have a stealth mode as an option or maybe it can warn you if you are being scanned by the cable company. And yes they can detect if you are using an illegal cable box(hardwired software). Software is something else entirely but again it does not hurt to ask.

The only thing that gives feedback to the cable company is the Cable Modem if you have one!

Actually seen "The Matrix" a bunch of times but not recently. You wouldn't happen to know where a guy could get a Divx version off the net would you? A single download none of that 4199 1kb files sh!t.

Yes I do own a cable modem. As far as the cable company being able to detect whether you have an illegal cable box- they can. Please I don't want to get into to it on how they do it all. I have it on good authority that they can do it(at least my cable company can) and they can do it. Especially if your cable company invests in new equipment(with newer standards) that makes scanning that much easier. Like my cable company does.
