Hello, I have a Toshiba L655-s5150 that gives me a black screen when I start up with a blinking cursor in the top left corner

Are you able to enter BIOS or not even that.

do you have a recovery disk?

in most cases this situation is encountered when system cannot boot from HDD

easy fix with ubcd just go in mbr tool and set partition to active. and choose option to rewrite mbr. i have found this as a comand issue and have help a few people willing to walk u though step by step if u would like u can email me at bellomycr@aol.com
everyone is saying to u restore disk and delete drive and lose everything but u dont have to at all
