Hello, i am a newbie of PC user. i can't play some of the 3d games like R6 and midtown madness. Everytime i try to run the game it displays a black screen and exit very shortly. My 3d card is voodoo3 2000 and CPU is P3 600. But i can play some such as AOE and simcity3000. Anything have to do with the AGP or BIOS?

I might want to point out that I don't think AOE and Simcity 3000 are 3D accelerated, while the other two are. Likely you don't have a proper driver installed for 3D.

That should help you find what you need, although if you're running Xp and maybe 2000 you may need to go for a third party driver instead of a 3Dfx one.

And, yes, the videocard is weak compared to modern boards but if I can run Rainbow 6 on a Matrox G200 and a K6-2 450, you can run it on your rig.

thanks for your help, i have installed the driver and the hardware manager can detect the existence of the voodoo3 card, but the problem still exist. This card do not have AGP texture accelerating function as said in direct X diagnostic tool, is it the reason behind?

What OS are you using.
If its WinXP, the original R6 is not supported. (if it is XP, try the compatability program).
