AGP 8x and 4x Cards

Ok, I'm not a complete idiot but I can't find any info out there about motherboards that have AGP 8x 3.0 slots and if I have an AGP 4X card, will it work? I appreciate any help and any rude comments that may accompany it.

should work!!

as i understand it all 8x and 4x cards/mobos will accept the other without problems (you are limited to 4x though)

so an 8x board will work with a 4x card and vice versa

i may be wrong but that is what i understand

The latest boards require AGP4x or newer cards. The latest cards are compatable back to AGP2x.
