It's released as one may have noticed :)

<A HREF="http://www.futuremark.com/download/?3dmark03.shtml" target="_new">http://www.futuremark.com/download/?3dmark03.shtml</A>

Tried it on my P4 2.4Ghz with 1Gb DDR333 an a GF4 Ti4600 on got a score of 1535. Damn, I was so used to my 12000+ 3DMark 2001 result :)

I'm now just wondering how many months must pass until the second and third gametest run smoothly at 50+ FPS...

I'm not looking forward to running that benchmark. I know that once I run it I'll want to upgrade yet again! Resist the urge, resist the urge...

I know, and if the bench does not have representative performance of current games, and rather stresses so much for little points, it needs some retooling.

Though when I recall, when 3dMark 2001 came out, best cards got about 4000 pts, until geForce 3s came in.
Problem is that current '03 has DX9 in it, and there are already DX9 cards, so technically DX9 cards should yeild well over 6000 points.

I tried it out and got around 3500 marks with an Athlon 1.0GHZ and 9500pro. Its hard to believe some of the stuff is actaully 3d, especially the demos they got a weird blur to them. And the ragtroll test made me LMAO!

This 171 MB download will take hell ammount of time with my 33.6 kbps dial-up connection. In fact, I've never downloaded such huge file from with my dial-up. My last record was 138 MB. Now I'm going to break the record.

BTW, how much score I can expect from 3D Mark 2003? 200 to 300?

My specs:- Duron 1 GHz, nForce 420-D, nForce IGP-128, 224 MB RAM.

My radeon9700pro is still on an RMA vacation but is due back next week sometime. My TNT2 m64 wont run 3dmark03 heh, but all the 9700's seems to be scoring over 4k and some 5k.
Many of the people at the futuremark forums own 4200's and are goin foaming at the mouth mad in some cases from such low scores, 1k - 2k. Some argument about pixel shader 1.4 and 8500's, oh and ofrcourse the unfairness of it all. hah. Many are STILL antiously awaiting the geforceFX 3dmark03 scores over there.

Ha yeah 3dmark03 does make it very tempting to upgrade. When newer *real* games start to run choppy I'll probably upgrade to the fastest sub $200 card out.

I got it and am not impressed. It doesn't seem like it would run well on ANY system.

The only place i managed to get it from was fileshack. You have to wait about an hour before it starts but once it does you get upto 100k download. I got about 1,580 on my GF4 and AXP 2000+ fully overclock. IMHO it doesnt look as good as the old one, tbh the graphics dont look that good (not on my monitor anyway) and in the second two games I was getting constantly under 10fps.

I was disappointed with my score too. Oh well. My setup is p4 2.4, 512 PC-1066, 8IHXP2, Audigy and a R-9700 Pro. With all the settings and textures maxed out in the ATI control panel i got about 1656. With all the settings on default in the ATI control panel i got 4700. This is comparing to my 14000+ on 3DMark 2001. I love the demos, they are really sweet and run fine without AA and Aniso. It just sux because jaggies and blurries. When I lower texture quality and enable 4X AA and 8X Aniso it gets choppy, same with 2X aniso. Kinda sux. No more maxing out graphics. :frown:

Damn, 3DMark03 is brutal! I got a score of 1134. XP 2600, R8500 (64 MB), 512 MB PC 2700. Some of the tests dropped down to 2 or 3 frames/sec.

I get about 9200 on 3DMark 2001 SE.

Depressing.

Problem is, it stresses to a point we're wondering if it represents at all current and upcoming DX9 games.
If it's any telling of performance of them, at under 10FPS, then I'd say to the game dev: The hell with you and your low performing game!
If the R9700PRO cannot handle the upcoming games so smoothly, it's gonna be a scary while people.

Hopefully Doom III is a stresser but that shows how proper coding makes excellent graphics and effects with some very nice frame rates on older cards.
