Decently Priced 9700?

Im looking to possibly buy a decently priced Radeon 9700. Any companies I should stray away from? I hear that Saphire is good, and of course the Made by ATI card is going to be decent.

I found this one at ocsystem.com:

I purchased my card OEM, and i'm very happy with it. It came with everything the card would normally would come with. I purchased mine from www.newegg.com, and yes, mine is a Saphire 9700 Pro i picked up for a lot less than the price you listed. If you don't want to go pro, i think i saw them selling for under 200, the pro version was 237 after shipping for me.

I didnt see the pro on there for that price, just the normal 9700.. whats the dif between the 2?

The prices seem to be rising, but I've been following them and have not seen a pro card for $237. I have definitely not seen a 9700 for under $200.

Could you post a link cause I'd love to get a card at those prices.

ok, you have to check every day in the "refurbrished" section, the 9700 pro will be in a section "built by ATI" and the radeon 9700 will be in saphire under video card. You'll have to check back daily, mainly because the card sells out extreemly fast. (usually when they get it in stock, it sells out in a matter of hours) i got mine on tues around 10 am pst.

Whats the diff between the pro and non pro? Just the clock speed?

oh, and the difference between the radeon 9700 pro and 9700 are this

9700 9700 pro
gpu 275 MHz gpu 325 MHz
ram 270 MHz (540 DDR) ram 310 MHz (620 DDR)

as far as fps difference, i imagen it's not more than 10~5 fps

yeah, I just went there and saw that all of them were out of stock....

How come they even list a referb if they are out of stock?

they came in stock today, so you get the idea on when you have to buy them I think they come in on tues or wens, then again on thurs or friday. I was just lucky that when i logged on, i got mine ^_^

They might not be refurbs, but cards that were accidentaly opened at the warehouse. I used to have to do stuff like that when I worked in retail.

Then why would they not ship the cards with the cables and cd's?

Besides that, they stopped listing those products on newegg. They had em listed as out of stock yesterday, but now there's nothing.

What would happen if the refurb didn't work and needed to be rma'd? Wonder if they would just give you and oem or make you wait for another refurb to come through.
