This may be a little off topic(it does deal with all your componets though)I heard folks with 20,000 plus 3DMark2001se scores wouldnt break 5000 in 3DMark03 Anyone KNOW?..Guess i need to wait for the R350...

That wouldn't surprize me, my 2000 scores were twice my 2001 scores. But it would REALLY depend on the VIDEO CARD. Say you were running some special TI4600 with 2ns memory at DDR1000 speed, and liquid nitrogen on the GPU, LOL. Now, this is a DX8 card. It would probably STOMP a stock 9700 Pro in 2001, especially with a really fast processor, also on liquid nitrogen. But the 9700 would walk all over it in 2003 if 2003 is a DX9 collection.

Im looking forward to a score of ~200 after looking at the screen shot teasers.. looks like a lot of "Doom3" style stuff, and It was said on there that a DX8 card will run only 3 tests...

well apparently some half pint midgets melted his ring in the fires of mount doom, so he needed a powerful replacement.

maybe he saw how many high quality divx movies i was pumping out.

im pretty sure sauron doesnt know about 3dmark.

well i ran 3dmark03 (it was hell getting it) and i scored in the respectable 4400's. Anyone else get a score? i'd give my score link out, but i can't seem to get it posted =(

Oh, Sauron knows. A while ago Saruman and I were getting drunk on this wild brew and recalling tales of the wussy-elves one night and before I knew it, I was explaining the whole concept of interdimentional translocation and using the spatial polar differences between dimentions to traverse time. Well, anywho, suddenly there I was, writing up a little software program to display it all too him since fourth and fifth dimentional travel are a little hard to visualize some times.

So then he's all like "Whoah, that weird parchment book is so cool." And so then I just <i>had</i> to show off my benchmark scores. Even if it is just a cheap laptop from 2013, it's still pretty impressive by today's standards. So that's how Saruman found out.

And hell, it's not like Saruman could ever really keep a secret from Sauron, so that means that Sauron definately knows.

That's okay though. After Saruman got his arse kicked I looted what was left of the place by playing on the spatial polar differences to pop in at just the right time. (AKA when he's dead but all his stuffus ain't.) I left that damned crystal ball thing though. Hell if I need Sauron breathing down <i>my</i> neck.

So now I've got this wicked collection of magical crap. I was going to use it to go back in time and take over France and set up a base of operations to destroy all forms of mayonnaise at the source just before it caught on, but now I think that I just <i>might</i> be able to use it all to locate Castle Amber and bargain with the Pattern to walk it and become an initiate.

I don't know. It's either that or find this place called Landover and hook up with the dryads. I hear nymphs are all that. I just recently met this one named Dawn who's a dream nymph. Maybe you've seen her? She posed for a couple of geeks over at nVidia and I hear they haven't been able to think about anything else since. It even screwed up their launch of this whole FX thing, whatever that is...

Yes. I dont give a sod about 3dmark... A benchmark thats mostly CPU dependent and 'artificial'

Give me quake3/UT2003/Serious sam demo framerates anyday!

Seriously though, you're talking to an experienced dungeon master for Advanced Dungeons and Dragons 1st and 2nd Editions (I'm boycotting 3rd Ed.), an experienced game master for BattleTech & MechWarrior, Shadowrun, and a somewhat experienced storyteller for various White Wolf games (Vampire, Werewolf, and Mage mostly ... well and all of the misc. corresponding books for mere mortals). Besides DMing and playing those, I've also played Robotech, Mekton Z, Rifts, Palladium, Rolemaster (and the Middle Earth Rolemaster stuff), Basic D&D, and probably a number of others that I'm just not remembering right now. Heh heh.

And when I'm not pencil & paper gaming, I'm writing fantasy and sci-fi novels (or reading them) or playing video games on my PC or any number of older consoles. (My only current ones are a Game Boy Advance and a Game Cube. No PSX2 or XBox for me ... yet.) Well, that or spending time with the wife. :) (Come to think of it, it's pretty amazing that a weirdo like me could even find a woman willing to put up with me.)

And I won't even bring my 'religion' into it.

So anywho, if you want the creatively-insane, I can help. Alternatively, if you want some pretty useless fantasy trivia, I can dish it out just as fast as I read/write/play it. :)

And sadly, would you believe that I've never even used drugs in my life and have never once been drunk?

Frankly, I'm really not sure how the heck I ever became a scientific computer software programmer. It was mostly situational circumstances that led up to it I guess.

im cursious as to much much cpu speed plays a part... what sort of number do you get if you run at stock CPU speed?

3dmark has allways been way to CPU dependent.

Don't know......I don't have the card overclocked yet. I'll run a test overclocking the card, then I'll run everything at stock and see what the difference is.

well i have a 1900+ and got a 4542, so compair that with mr 2.4 above me and you'll get your difference. I'm planning on getting a 2600+ or so and hopefully that'll help =)
