I need help bad!

I just purchased a Soyo KT400 Platinum MB and a Leadtek WinFast 250 TI4400. I can't get any 3D running on it without locking up immediately. I'm running W2K SP3. 512MB of Corsair 400mHz ram, with 2 80gig Maxtors in a striped raid.

Thanks in advance..

You may want to try a previous set of Nvidia drivers if your using the latest, I've encountered alot of problems with 41.09 including some similar to yours.

I'll give that a try. I've tried the 41.09 drivers as well as the ones that came with the vid card. I don't know what version they are.

Anything is worth a shot. I purchased this back before Christmas, and my MB had to be RMA'd. I finally got a new one, now this!!

If that doesn't work, try another video card (if you have access to one(see if it's a software conflict someplace)) and/or RMA it again.

Someone told me that I have a problem because my board is 8x and my vidcard is only 4x. I wonder if I could "clock" it back in the BIOS to get it to work??

Sorry I had to step out for a bit. I forgot to mention this but a bios flash is usually in order to get things running properly. There was a timing issue that was straightened out with some of the newer video cards.

You'll need your motherboard manufacturer, the part number, and any relevant information and should be able to find the upgrade at your motherboards' homepage with instructions.
Be sure you know what your doing before you proceed, you can permanently damage you motherboard if you mess up.

Once again, I'm sorry I didn't provide the information sooner.

I got it working last night. I updated the VIA chipset drivers to the newest Hyperion 4-n-1 drivers to no avail. I ended up formatting and installing XP. It worked without a single glitch.

3DMark2001 Score: 9350

I was hoping for 10000, but at least I'm up and going now.

Thanks for all your help!
