definitely wouldn't damage the card but there might not be sufficient power for it.It depends on how good your psu is and how many ide devices you have etc.what is your full spec?is the psu branded or generic?

no matter how hard you try, you can't polish a turd. :]

i would disagree, my 9700pro blew up TWO 300w psu wich in turn blew up the 9700, HD and cdrom =P

I've been running my 9500 Pro on a 250 watt PSU since the end of December. Its a Compaq Presario (never again!), 1.7Ghz P4, 768mb sdram, dvd drive, cd-rw drive, & floppy. I've had minor graphical glitches (usually when first turning on the computer) once a week or two (weeks, not twice in a week), but nothing a reboot didn't fix. The only thing thats somewhat a concern is this high-pitched noise that started after I installed the card, it sounds something like feedback almost.

You will be fine.I am using a s**tty generic 350W with my 9500pro and a similar amount of devices etc. with no problems.
