In the VGA Charts 1 Article, it seems that the Radeon 7000/VE scores about 600 3dmarks higher than mine. the pc setup is just about the same.

After thinking, I realized that maybe the card they used in the setup was the 64mb version (i have the 32mb version), but there is no mension of the specifics througout the article.

anyone know if that is the case?

thanks, dave.

That wouldn't necessarily account for the difference in performance. Settings could, you could download Rage3D tweak and use the 3DMark2001 performance profile. Also it's possible that this card came at various speeds, and with or without DDR. Also, is your card AGP? That can make a large difference. Oh, and memory timing can make a big difference too, I picked up a max of 7% simply by changing from Cas3 to Cas2.

Well how good is the rest of your system compared to the system they used?

Intel Pentium 4 2.4B GHz
Asus P4S8X Gold
Samsung 256MB DDR333
SoundBlaster Audigy

Im tbred b 2100+ at 190*11.5 = 2185mhz. a7n8x MB
pc2700 crucial running at "ok" timings and a cas latency of 2.5.

The card is AGP, but it is Powercolor. Would that account for so much of the difference. I have tried adjusting many of the settings that come with my drivers, but the best i can get is approx 2010 3dmarks.

Keep the suggestions coming.

Well, that's not too bad then. I'm running a Radeon LE on a Celeron 1100@1466 and getting only 3600 marks.

I did´nt use any special settings. Just V-Sync off. I´m not sure what might be the problem in your system or with your Radeon VE.
