get a 64mb with no agp 8x (only 4x)
128 and 8x won't make any difference, literally, they're marketing hype
128 may or may not make a difference in future games
if you want dx9 compatibility try a radeon 9500/9700 pro or non pro
you can see the benchmarks on all the cards here

I would go for the radeons 9500/9700(pro) too simply because they supports dx9 games and are priced at the level similar to those of GF4 Ti4xxx.

No, the 8x agp Ti4200's are comming with faster memory. But, you pay for that memory.

It depends on what you're going to be gaming at. If you're gaming at 1024x768, then that 128meg version will pull right at the exact same as the 64meg version. It used to be the 64meg version won out because of the memory clock rates; but those rates are even on the 8x cards.

If you're gaming at 1280x1024, then the 128meg version will win out. By a far margin, because the clock rates are again, up there where they need to be.

This card is a bad buy. Buy a R9500 Pro BBA for little more money or buy GF4 Ti4200 64 MB and save some money

This is a good card. Has faster memory than the 64MB version, contrary to what these others are saying and you will need 128MB for running high detail games. Newegg has this Asus card for $149 and the Abit card is on sale for $125. Or you could go the ATI route, but I personally bought this very card your asking about.

Crap, all the good ones are already taken.

I see this card for $149 at newegg.com. You can get an ABIT Ti4200 128MB AGP8X for only $120 at newegg.com cause there's a sale. That would be worth it.

Also at newegg.com, there's a Sapphire R9500 non pro 128MB that looks a lot like a R9500 Pro. It's probably a R9500 Pro, with only 4 pipelines. It's $162, but I don't recommend it cause lots of people have been having probs with it. Just another card, if you want to take a chance, cause softmodded, it'll give you better performance, but won't neccessarily work. It's like gambling.
