Hi, like the title says im thinking about getting a pc for gaming (mostly skyrim and maybe BF3) The problem is i know next to nothing about Psu's, graphics cards, motherboard's and all that kind of stuff.
Im looking to spend around 350-400£ (if it's possible to get a gaming pc for that much) so any help would be appreciated.

£250 on a graphics card? for BF3 and skyrim? you're crazy. if you increase your budget to around £500 you could get a fx 6300 or a i3 and a 7870 and you will be able to run most games on high.

Another thing, is make sure you search around for the best price.
places i would recommend would be....
Ebuyer
Scan
Aria
Dabs
etc
I usually buy the most important stuff from one site (motherboard, Ram, CPU, GPU)
and buy all the other stuff from places that have what I'm looking for and the best deals

Get a GTX 660 from scan for £166, it and the 7870 seem to trade blows. Furthermore it can run BF3 on ultra at 1080p, with 50+fps 90% of the time.
Maybe drop down to an i3 for £90, because MSI sells a motherboard for £30.
Could shave off a couple of quid on the Case and lower the wattage of the PSU to save more money.
My version (all from scan.co.uk)
Case: Silverstone Precision PS05B £35
PSU: 450W XFX Pro Core Edition P1-450S-X2B9 (80+ Bronze) £35
CPU: i3 2120 £90
GPU: MSI GTX660 twin frozr III £166 (plus you get AC3 free)
Mobo: MSI H61M-P25 £32
HDD: 500GB Western Digital Caviar Blue £45
DVD: LiteOn 24x £13
Total of £428
Then whatever you can spare on monitor, speakers, keyboard+mouse.
If you are moving on from your xbox360 then you could consider selling it and maybe even the TV for some more money.

yep, the one i recommended is the one I'm using now, Here are the bench marks for the graphics card which include Skyrim. http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/548
FYI the benches use something like a i7 so take around 10-20 fps off and also they are on ultra and very high
