Hi, All
I have a few question. I would like to upgrade my graphic card, but am unsure which will work with my system. I have AGP ver.1 slot,1x,2x. I currently have a Nvidia Riva TNT2 Model 64,16mb 1x.2x.4x installed. What I need to know is, Are there any cards out there, that I will notice any improvement with? And If so, will I have to upgrade my power supply? Currently have 250watt power supply.
Thanks in advance for any help

I think Radeon7500 up to Radeon8500 would be good choice for your system, cards better than 8500 (9500, 9700), I don't think your system is good enough to catch up.
for nVidia, I recommend Ti4200, maybe MX460..but I guess Ti4200 would be a lot worth it.

What will you be using your pc for? If you want to play the latest games then maybe its time for a complete upgrade as you will get much better compatibility, stability and performance but if your just going to be doing a bit of web browsing and light stuff then your current card is fine.

Just do NOT get a Geforce4 MX. They so completely suck! You're probably ready for a complete system upgrade about now.

Hi, Thanks for the replies! I do play games, mostly role playing ones.
My system is a Compaq Presario 7000 7AP190, motherboard spare part # 201479-001
HTTP://sparesstore.compaq.com/sparesstore/PicPop.asp?=201479.gif
I currently have a 250 watt Compaq power supply, 20 pin plug. Spare part # 153652-001 or Spare parts # 210803-002 (Compaq tells both of these will work.) BUS Clock is 100Megahertz per Balarc. What does this mean? Frontside Bus Propreties, Real Clock 100mhz (DDR), Effective Clock 200 Mhz? Phoenix BIOS, AMD 750 irongate
Maybe it is time to upgrade.
I am not sure what kind of upgrade I can do!
The Nvidia Ti4200 sounds good to me,from what I have read on it. Will I have to upgrade my power supply with that card?

If you wish to upgrade your whole system, I suggest any AMD Athlon XP from 1800+ or more
with this system upgrade, then I would suggest Ti4200 or Radeon9500, or even better cards
