Any hope for loses wire in ac adapter?

Hello, I bought a new batter and power chord for my acer laptop a couple of months ago. It was working fine.
I noticed however yesterday that the wire inside the sucket where the power chord gets plugged into the laptop is lose and now the battery is no longer charging. Is there anything I can do??
