I just built a new system with a Gigabyte 7VAXP Ultra and an Athlon XP. Along with it I purchased a RADEON 9700. The 9700 seems to hate the VIA 4in1 drivers, specifically the AGP drivers. When I first booted up in vga mode it worked fine. But then I installed the AGP driver and upon boot, the system would freeze on the win2k load screen, have to reset system. I tried an old Nvidia TNT card and it worked fine with drivers. I then only uninstalled the VIA AGP driver and the system booted no problem.
Now I'm running the system without the AGP drivers and it seems to be working. I havent tested anything to see if I'm running in a lower speed due to not having AGP 3.0 support on the mobo. Anyone else have issues with this card and VIA chipsets? Its really frustrating.
