Hello, I'm new to the forums and I have a question! *Gasp!*
Anyway.. Ok here is the deal, I got this video card Video Card I thought it was a Radeon 9500 Pro. Now I got my email and it and this item name ATI 128MB RADEON 9500 PRO 8X V .. I thought I was good to go, yesterday something hit me and I got on that website and looked at the cards and the two 9500 they have do not have Pro any where in the name. I thought Oh great, but that email said it was a Pro. So I emailed them and asked them, then today I get the card (It came in a plan white box) and it had A95P on the corner. I installed it and everything it works great, then I got to check email I hear back from them and they say it's NOT a Pro. So I start freaking out! I got online went to ati.com did a little vender id matching and found My Card this looks just like the one I got and it has the A95P in the corner. Also I checked dxdiag and it says it's a 9500 Pro. More or less I was wondering if there is any sure-fire way to make sure what kind it is? Thanks BIG TIME for any help you can give me! Help! Please! What’s left of my sanity is at stake! I also downloaded a Ati utility that shows stuff about your card (thats how I got the vendor id number) if that helps!

Help? I sure someone out there knows how to find out what one I got. I want to send it back if I got a 9500 and not a 9500 Pro.

An easy way to find out, run 3dmark 2001, look at toms benchmarks and see what score you should get with a pro, and check what score you get !

Try pricewatch.com

I find that they usually have about any card that has been out for longer than a month. I also saw that there was no mention of a 9500 Pro there. I think that you just got the ATI 9500 128MB vid card which in itself is a very sweet deal. I wouldn't worry to much about it as there is little difference between the 9700 and 9700 Pro. I think the performance gap is only at like 3% or something. Cheers.

Oh yeah...PS n stuff:
If you payed the price on that website...don't go there anymore. Try pricewatch.com in the future. Believe me, it may be OEM parts but I haven't had any problems with them for years.

OK, I ran 3DMark2001 Pro. I have WinXP Pro, AmdXP 1500+ (1.3ghz) DX 9.0, PC-2100 512 ddram, the score I got is 9233. So what do you think? This is a major upgrade from the Geforce 2GTS I had..

Im comparing your result to my setup, 1700xp, 512mb ram and a rad 9700pro you have a slightly slower cpu (gives you about 600 less 3dmarks, so to make it comparable to mine, say you got 9,800 3dmarks, thats only 1,400 lower than my score with a 9700 pro (11,200) so yes you have a 9500pro (and a very fast one at that hehe).

In response to TKS comment about the performance gap between a radeon 9700 and the pro version, its MUCH more than 3% or i wouldnt have got the pro, in reality its something like 10% at standard resolutions but go higher and its more like 20%
