Check these guys out. They've been around for a while. They are fairly awesome. Their first self-titled album is my favorite (tracks 4 and 7). Third album grows on you. I've never listened to the second.

Saw Billy Talent along side Rancid and Rise Against in Oakland. RA were good, Rancid kicked ass, and billy talent sounded very, very canadian. I felt as if terrance and phillip were lead singers for the band......not my cup o tea

Oh and forgot to mention, met Tim Armstrong's parents - they were sitting behind me to see their son in their hometown. Thought it was a great experience. They were great folks and the dad got some chick thrown out by his entourage when she wouldn't sit down to stop blocking the view of his son playing - how epic.

Thank you for the recommendation.
I like punk. I will listen to their albums later. :)

What is a Canadian sound to you?

You have some good anecdotes, but there's a little too much animosity coming through. I'm guessing your band lost to these guys in the talent contest of Grade 10 (still probably talking about that one, eh?... the one that put you in the audience and them on stage...), but despite the set back and against all odds you still went to Callie to (NOT) realize your dream? Now your not only hating this band, but also "Canadian-sounding" bands?

no, i was referring to an intensely sounding " stereotypical" canadian voice as the lead singer as i stated. i said " not my cup o tea" which means " just not for me" not " youre dumb if you like it" so stop getting offended. canadian sound - i was merely joking about terrance and philip from south park - which when i saw them the dude was obviously drunk spatting off about canadians and how weird they speak. dont hate me, it was the singer that was doing it, i was just merely there.

i wasnt insulting your choice in music, but rather just expressing my opinion based on the experience i had watching them live

Indeed they are a good punk rock band. I got all 3 self titled albums and have to say their all great. You are right the 3rd does indeed grow on you. I would have to say "Rusted from the rain" is one of my favorites from III.
