HELP!!!!! PLEEZE!

I have XP Pro with 256M ram and when I try to create a new folder on the c: drive the mouse pointer turns into a hour glass and hangs for like 3 minutes and I never reach the point to create the folder. The very same thing happens when I try to delete a mapped drive. What can it be? I never see this before, please help! Thanks!

You need to give more into than what you have but make sure your nic cables are connected and that the nics themselves are seated.
