i am building a new computer with a AMD Athlon XP 2400+ and an Asus A7N8X motherboard. I am planning on getting a Radeon 9700 or a 9700 Pro. Does the increased chip and memory speed on the Pro version really help out? or should i save around $70 or so and go for the 9700?

also, i was planning on getting atleast one stick of 512mb DDR 3200 memory. would it be better to get 2 sticks of 512mb DDR 3200 (dual channel) and the Radeon 9700? or one stick of 512mb (single channel) and the Radeon 9700 Pro?
the difference in price between the 9700 and 9700 Pro is about the same amount as one stick of 512mb DDR 3200 (around $70).
can you guys give me alittle advice of what to do?
thanks for any responses!

If you're a serious gamer, then go for the 9700 Pro. It's currently the best vid card. As for the system memory, you need a pair of DDR RAMs for the dual memory channel found on your mobo.

i'd say get 2x 256 sticks so you can run in dual mode. 1 gig of ram is useless for most users. So in turn you have the extra money to put into your 9700 pro

To err is human... to really screw things up you need a computer!
