About every 10th question here seems to be 8x agp related, and I get a just as many at work. The popular ones are as follows.
Will a 8x card work with a 4x motherboard? or vise versa. Yes ofcourse it will.
Should I upgrade my 4x geforce4 to a 8x version? God no.
Is there a performance gain from 8x agp. Almost none.
There have been lots of posts answering these questions but i thought I would help as many misinformed people as can while im complaining here.
Its mainly the marketing I hate here, many people buying computers these days seem to learn all they know about the subject from advertising of some kind. Good for the companies doing the advertising but its annoying as hell.
