Hi !

i want to ask some simple stuff.

1-Somehow, i need to have a vampire burned sooner or later (he has a
fame on him)
i call a domain challenge with the said vamp, and during the resulting
referendum, i replace my awe (i emptiedmy vamp) with a with a daring the
dawn. Can i play the daring the dawn after the referendum, just in the
time windows before a freak drive to effectively burn my vampire ? :)

2-I am player A. I have a rotschreck in hand. I know player C has a
Rotschreck and wants to play it on B's next action. B then acts with a
vampire equipped with ivory bow and C blocks. B declares a strike with
Ivory, can i immediatly play my rotschreck even before C has the
opportunity to declare his strike ?

thank you :)

I wanted to answer the same thing but could not find any place to
actually to support my answer. Is it stated in the rulebook?

Thanks,

Hmm.. I would say that too. BUT, section 6.2 of the rulebook states
that:

"Action modifiers and reaction cards can be played at any time during
an action (unless otherwise noted on card text)...."

The above to me feels like action modifiers can be played anytime
unless restricted by cardtext.

Does "Vampires cannot block this action" mean that as soon as we have
passed the block/no block part of an action, one can no longer play
Daring the Dawn simply because there is no need to block?

No. It's implicit, like strike modifiers being played before strike
resolution.

I guess the "as appropriate" is considered implict by the rules writer.

Yes.
Actually "action modifier" means that once the action is resolved, one
can no longer modify it in the usual sense, like strike modifiers and
strike resolution (although effects like Freak Drive and Twisting the
Knife -- is it permissible to use those two together in the same
sentence? -- are clearly still applicable).

It's always simple stuff that gets one confused. :)

No. Action Modifiers can only be played before action resolution by
default.

just a simple follow-up :
can C declare his strike anyway and also play rotschreck himself or does
Rot' immediatly interrupts the combat ? :)

Rot ends the combat.

so it is in fact impossible to have two rotschreck played in the same
combat?

We had a game on saturday where the following scenario happened.

while player A (me) was acting with valerius major
player B blocked with meshenka
player C had an erciyes fragment in play, untapped.

combat ensued.
I maneuvered to long with valerius, with theft of vitae in mind

Player C told me "i have a rotschreck and it is my interest to see
meshenka in torpor"

so i played a conflagration, and player B played a Breath of the dragon.

Player C tapped his fragment to fetch a rotschreck from B's ash heap and
played it on meshenka. The card was put on him as usual.

Meshenka then played telepathic tracking. Combat did not end.
Then Meshenka's methuselah played a Rotschreck to send Valerius to
torpor (guessing i play ignore the searing flame)

is this sequence correct ?

as i think it now, the second Rot should not have been played...

No, not in general. If one party plays Telepathic Tracking, for example,
to continue a combat that is being ended by Rötschreck, then another
Rötschreck can still be played in that combat later on if another
legal attempt to inflict aggravated damage as a strike is made.

It is not possible, though, to send both vampires in combat into
torpor with Rötschrecks, as the first one ends combat, ending
the time window where another one could be played.

Indeed. At least, for that particular strike. Rötschreck ends combat,
and Telepathic Tracking starts a new round. Any attempts to inflict
aggravated damage in previous rounds (including the round that was
ended by the previous Rötschreck) no longer present an opportunity
to play Rötschreck.

LSJ:
Reyda, You're sending your messages as "quoted-printable", which is
messing up the angle-bracket quoting of my follow-ups.
Can you set your news reader to post in plain text?

Reyda:

LSJ:
Correct.

Reyda:

LSJ:
The second Rotschreck needs a source of agg damage. After the
TT, the strikes from the aborted first round are no longer around
to threaten anyone. Meshenka will have to again attempt to
inflict agg damage in this new round in order for Rotschreck
to be played.

Passing along (I haven't tested this):

Select "Tools" then click on "Account Settings..."
Under an account, select "Addressing & Composition" in the left pane
In the "Composition" section, uncheck "Compose messages in HTML format"

Repeat the above 2 steps for each account you have set up in
Thunderbird.
Click on "OK".
Select "Tools" then click on "Options"
Click on "Composition" in left pane
In the "Forwarding Messages" section, change the "Forward messages:" to
Inline.
In the "Composing Messages" section, uncheck the box in front of "For
messages that contain 8-bit characters..."
In the "Send Options" section, click "Send Options"
In the "Text Options" section, select "Ask me what to do..." from the
dropdown
Click on "OK".
