Simple question. Want TV tuner functionality, but it's not an absolute must. How well will an all in wonder 8500 hold up over the next 1-2 years? Is it comprable to the Ti4200? I've heard that the new versions come with 3.3ns ram, but is this true? If so then it would have a higher clock speed than the Ti4200. How about overclocking compared to the Ti4200. I know this is a lot of quesitons, but thanks to all who respond!

From my perspective (I've had both of these video cards), the GF4 will beat the ATI in pure brute force. The ATI had a crisper image both in 2d and 3d. IF a TV Tuner is a must go with the AIW. You could also get the GF4 and buy a TV Tuner card. Both cards are good performers what I would base my decision on is cost. For all kinds of info on ATI cards, go to this forum: http://www.rage3d.com/

Agreed... personally I chose AIW8500, and I have no major complaints... It also overclocks quite nicely.

To err is human... to really screw things up you need a computer!

How nicely? If it really overclocks nicely, then it would definatley be my choice, as many people have trouble ocd'ing their Ti4200's. Do you think it will last a year or so? By then I'll be able to upgrade to an AIW 9700.

Well, it seems you really want the AIW package. I think that ATI sells a PCI card with AIW functinality except graphic card. I mean, get that ATI card and combine with whatever GPU you want. And you also don't have to spend money every time for AIW functionality. Get my point?

I have made something similar. I have an Avermedia PCI card just to see TV (not comparable with AIW, but enough for my needs), and I just update de GPU. And I don't have any problems of space, because I only use one PCI for NIC and that's all (my mobo has six). I suppose you are in a similar situation ...
