Not sure if this one belongs in motherboard board but here goes...
Ive got a motherboard with a Via Apollo VP3 chipset, which is: "AGP v1.0 compliant, Supports 133MHz 2X mode for AD and SBA signalling".

Basically I want to know if I can use a Radeon VE which is agp2.0 compliant in an agp1.0 2X slot..

Many thanks in advance.

Yes, it will work. The 7000VE is ATI's lowest performance card since the old Rage 128 Pro.. But then again, the VIA Apollo Pro chipset isn't any better.

thanks boss :D
I'm only building a little box to run MAME so i can play all my old arcade favourites. I need something with TV out and when i came across the radeon VE I noticed it had integrated iDCT and MC so might be OK to play DVDs through as well.
wow.. 6 abbreviations in one sentence :p

cheers!
