Matrox Graphics Cards Best for 2D?

Hello folks.

Would you say that the general consensus has been, and it is still, that of graphics cards under $750: Matrox video display cards (specifically the Millennium G450, Millennium G550, and the Parhelia) provide the best 2D (not 3D) graphics quality?

IMHO, that fact still stands. And the best software DVD playback I've seen, too.
