New System... Need Urgent Opinions!!!!

Ok so im now fiannly upgrading my current system. Nothing too overkill, but enough to get me by for a while.

Here are the Specs:

P4 1.7Ghz, 1G DDR333 Kingston Ram, Radeon 9500 Pro or 9700 pro (depending on prices), Gigabyte Ga-8SG800, Gigabyte Ga-8SG667 or ASUS P4S8X.

I currently own the 1.7G Chip, but am buying the new mobo, Graphics card and Ram this weekend. I dont have much money to spend ($1000 AUS, $500 US), and i was wondering if everyone would help me buy my new baby. Oh, im also buying a new case for all this to fit into.

ALso, should i wait till the new graphics cards are released? Will this make the current ones drop in price??

yes id wait for the new line of ati's to be released, but the 9800 pro is scheduled to come out on the 31st of this month, so that wont be too long of a wait.
if you get a 9700 pro or higher, its overkill for your cpu

i suggest you only get 512mb ddr333, seriously very few people need 1gb, thats just crazy. if you do lots of 3d rendering/video editing you MIGHT need it, otherwise YOU DONT!
get 512 ram, sell your 1.7, get a 2.4 (good prices right now).
wait 2 weeks to a month get 9700 pro, be happy.
1gb ram is gay for 99% of users.
if youre a graphics design artist and you use photoshop daily in your work and you like to have multiple high res images open and do crazy filters, then you might need 1gb.

512 is alot better than 256 though, 512 is the sweet spot.
the most ive seen sof2 single player use up is around 280mb. thats alot for a game. u2/ut2k3 and other new crazy games use alot too, but NONE will need more than 512.

get 512, set your page file to 1gb, set windows to "use more ram for system cache" and ull be good to go, and you can quit directly from any game right to the desktop w/no loading!
if you can do that you have enough ram!

doom3 will not need 1gb of RAM!!!

I don't know where you from but in Melbourne I can get:
Kingston PC2700 256MB $90 x2 sticks =$180
ATi Radeon 9700 Pro OEM =$660
Asus P4S8X =$185
Total =$1025
It's a bit over but I'm sure you can get them. I suggest you get 2 sticks of 256MB instead of 512MB, you really don't need that amount of RAM, save some cash on them and get Radeon 9700 Pro OEM. Or you can PM LHGPooBaa, he knows more than I do and may be he can get you lower price.
