Radeon Cards not "Pro"?

Are Radeons "Pro" cards? what makes a video card "pro"? I thought that 8x agp are what makes the card a "pro"? Am i wrong?

The "pro" associated with ATI Radeon cards is just to signify that the card has higher clock and mem speeds that the "non-pro" cards. e.g. The ATI RADEON 9700 is clocked lower than ATI RADEON 9700 PRO. SO nothing to do with AGP. ciao

Also, in the case of the 9500 it differentiates between the number of pipelines.

"Pro" in the name means nothing. It has nothing to do with AGP Pro, which goes all the way back to the 2x days (there are 2x, 4x, and 8x AGP Pro slots). No standard gaming card uses an AGP Pro slot, which adds more power. Instead, cards like the Radeon 9700 Pro get the extra power from a drive connector.

So now you know the word "Pro" in a title means nothing as far as the board is concerned. Right now, ATI is using the term "Pro" to mean "Faster". The 9500 Pro has 8 pipelines, while the standard 9500 has 4. The 9700 Pro is clocked higher than the 9700.
