System keeps on crashing during games and sometimes during internet. I had just type this message then suddenly it decided to exit the internet. I have had a message saying system memory is low while trying to use flight sim02. I have up to date drivers.

System specs

athlonxp2600+
Asus A7N8X (non deluxe)
2x 512MB PC2700 Ram
300W Power Supply
Ati Radeon 7200
Maxtor 40Gb 7200rpm Hard Disk
DVD, CDRW, Floppy + zip 100
PCI Modem

Win 98se operating system

Help would be much appreciated!!!

Is the total RAM on the dual channel seeing 512Mb or is it seeing 1024Mb, if its 1024Mb Windows98SE cannot handle that much RAM, you won't have any problems with 512Mb total.
So you'll either have to drop down to 2x 256Mb modules or You'd be better off to move up to WinXP Pro, that much RAM is no problem for WinXP. I would also move to at least a 350W P/S.

It is seeing 1024mb. So if i take out one of the ram modules it should be ok? I think i will also get a higher rated power supply. Thanks for your help.

I have taken one of the ram modules out but it seems to have made no difference! The system still seems to crash and restart unfortunately.

Win98/ME CANNOT handle more than 512 MB of memory without getting the problems U are getting, search for this problem on their knowledge base or switch to Win 2000/XP as these can handle more than 512mb...

Hmmm, wonder if I can get a valid page fault ???
these invalid ones are far too commonplace...
