I'm sorry to say but that is the dumbest made-up story I have ever read. Did you see that they mention 3dfx? Did you see that the article is dated sometime early 2000??

Please post next time links to serious journalism... and no, I didn't read the whole article, it was just way too dumb

I hardly never do this but but you went somewhat out of control and this, only because someone had not the same opinion like you. It's a pity that some people over-react that easily these days.

Back to the topic, yes I own a GF4 but that doesn't make me necessarily a nvidiot considering that I bought that card before any 9700 had been announced. In addition, even if that same article was about ATI and not nvidia, I would have said the same thing. It's nonsense to post such an old story even if it has been true. I don't care. That's not serious, intelligent journalism. Just some random bashing...

You are low talking about something like that. For all you know Genetic isnt SAD enough to spend every penny he gets on new computer hardware. Maybe you spend all you earn just attempting to get a higher 3dmark score than someone else, but most people have more important things to worry about than computers - like a life!

sorry to deceive you tombance but my system is over a year old but I still manage to get some 12300 points in 3dmark2001. You don't need to invest any penny you earn in the newest and fastest hardware to own a good performing system... BTW, my next upgrade will happen not earlier than the end of the year if not 2004, so in no way am I a hardcore overclocker freak or whatever you guessed me to be. And don't worry, I do have a real life and other real problems besides my PC.

I guess you just understood my "not enough money for decent system" incorrectly but to confirm, I would never upgrade my hardware just to get a higher score in any bench.

i wasn't into hardware in 1999-2000, but can the dates in the article be reconciled with real life?
also, has nVidia's PR group changed in the past few years? i don't think it's fair to say that what was true a few years ago is necessarily the way things still are
and is there proof that ATi acts any better than this? (or any hardware manufacturer for that matter.) this kind of seems like standard-hard-nosed business to me. play hardball in the big leagues

Wasn't that the same thing happening a couple of years back with VIA? Don't get me wrong, my past AMD mobos have been VIA and no problems. Just that I got my current mobo cheap(free)P K7S5A SiS735.
