I did a quick search on the Group/The Lasombra/The Yahoo Rules Group,
couldn't find anything useful.

If a minion has just enough blood to pay for an action, but plays an
action modifier that costs blood, the action fails and the cards
fizzle, right?

ie. full 3-cap plays Mind of a Child (D-act, 3 blood), then plays a
Forgotten Labyrinth (Stealth, 1 blood). The action succeeds, but he
can no longer pay for the action. The action fails, no combat, he
stays tapped, right?

Thanks guys!

A: Good question. In the interest of uniformity and, as an added bonus, to
remove the strangeness of the cases where a more expensive card costs
you less than a cheaper on (because the cost cannot be paid), the partial
cost ruling is reversed:
* You still cannot play a card or take an action whose cost cannot be paid.
* If, between the time you announce an action and the time the cost is
paid, you are no longer able to pay the cost, then you pay as much of the
cost as you can and, since the full cost is not paid, the action "fizzles"
(resolves with no effect).
* If you are obliged to pay a cost that you cannot afford (via Vast Wealth
or similar), then you pay as much of the cost as you can and the card
whose cost you were paying has no effect (and goes to the ash heap).

Something you can't afford the cost for. I'm not sure what else it
would mean.

If you have 5 pool, you pay the 5 pool for an Assault Rifle and would
equip it, but are also ousted. However, the fact that you have paid for
it and the action has been successful means that if someone played a
Life Boon on you, you would have the Assault Rifle.

If, for some reason, you started with 5 pool (so you could attempt the
action) but have lost some pool along the way, you pay "as much of the
cost as you can". If you have 4 pool, as much as of the cost as you can
is 4 pool. If you have 3 pool, as much of the cost as you can is 3
pool. And so on.

The action will fizzle, due to being unable to pay the cost, and you
will also be ousted.

No. You can still pay 4 (since you have 4), so you pay 4 and are ousted.

What does "cannot afford" mean? If I am at 4 pool and have to equip an
Assault Rifle what happens? I equip it and die or I pay 3 pool and have
no Assault Rifle but I am still alive. And what if I have 3 pool?
