Well anyway,

I have a 2700+ and A7N8X Deluxe with a ti4200 64mb.
I'm wanting to upgrade to an ATi card... Im thinking of a good 9700 non pro. Or perhaps a 9500 pro. But then I find myself asking "should I wait for the 9600 pro?" I just want to get a good DX9 card that will last me till, DX10 ;)
Anyone have any views, recommendations, opinions, etc...

Thanks much

I think you do right upgrading your card, its only ment for direct x 8 and lower, wont cut it with the new games coming out so if you want a card thats going to last, i suggest the 9700 pro.

9700, whether is Pro or not would be a good choice for you, of course, if you have extra cash, get Pro version

Phial man... you just dont understand.
Maybe its cuz ur broke after buying that guitar, but some people are obsessive compulsive about their comps.
A ti4200 to a 9700 pro or non, is a big upgrade.

PS, i have the same mobo, same cpu, 2x256 corsair xms3200, and a ti4400.
In one week my 9800 Pro should arrive:)

Heres what that means to me.
I currently play ut2k3 at 1600x1200 max detail, no aniso, no AA. In some maps in some places, it becomes slow, and sometimes even unplayable (i.e. INFERNO!).
with the 9800 Pro i expect to play at 1600x1200 max detail, 16x Performance aniso, and probly 2xAA (maybe 4, well see, w/everythin ocd and all), and still get better FPS than i currently do, not to mention being ready for future games.

I HATE BLURRY TEXTURES, graphics arent squat if starting 10 feet in front of you the texture becomes a blur. Using aniso will make me very happy:)

Long live ATI.
