I have used ATi and Nvidia. After the ATI 2000 card I had, I had had enough of ATi driver issues and crappie tech support answers. I switch to Nvidia (Geforce 2 MX). I have had a GF2MX, GF2U, GF3, GF4 Ti4200 4X(current). I have seen the same trend as of late with nvidia of crappie drivers, tech support and now the crap they are offering up with the FX card series for DX9. ATi has come back around and made some quality cards and huge driver/tech support improvements in my eyes. I for one have to say that I am looking forward to getting the cash together to purchase a 9500pro. Maybe I will wait a couple months and get a 9700pro. What thinks you ATi guru's? What should I do get a 9500pro (soonish), wait 3 months or so and get a 9700pro or get a 9600 when it is released?

this will be the other components:

EPOX 8rda+
AMD 1800+ (o/c to who knows where)
512 mb PC2700 DDR (2x256)
20GB Maxtor HD (windows partitioned off into 3 gb space)
40GB Maxtor HD
SB Audigy (if I don't like the built in sound)

Seems like all graphics posts are: Should I get a 9700 pro or the 9500 pro or maybee I should wait a few months and see what (insert one, Nvidia or Ati) comes out with.

The reason you had bunk drivers with your ATI 2000 card is because ATI never made a 2000 card....so.....yea......

So ATi never made a Xpert 2000 video card (sorry forgot the xpert before) that was based on the RAGE128 chip? Check the linky:

http://mirror.ati.com/products/pc/xpert2000/index.html

Looks Like an ATi Xpert 2000 to me.

However I have decided that the 9700pro will come down by June/July due to the 9800 or better coming down in price. Crossing my fingers that the 9700pro is less than 175 by then and I can get one of those.

Keep using your TI4200 for now, I dont know of any games that card cant handle well enough. You can easily squeeze another 3-4 months out of that card before it starts to look bad in some games.
