I have a Asus AGP-V3800 cira 1999. I was built right when AGP 4x was being picked up. I can't find anywhere if it is a 3.3v or 1.5v card. I am freaked out because of all the warnings that a 3.3v card will fry my new board. Also, I have been warned that you can't always tell by the number of tabs on the bottem of the card. How can I tell, or should I just roll the dice and plug it in??

I can tell you that AGP8X is backward compatible with AGP4X but not AGP2X. A 4X AGP card can be plugged into a AGP8X slot and vice versa. But a 2X AGP card must never be installed onto a AGP8X slot or your mobo (or graphic card) will be damaged. But it's save to plug 2X AGP card to AGP4X slot though. That's all I know on this topic, hope this help.

You never know how stupid you are until you have done something stupid enough for you to realize it.

According to <A HREF="http://www.dansdata.com/TNT2s.htm" target="_new">this review</A>, your card is AGP 4X. Not sure about its voltage though.
