A couple days ago i was at a friends house installing high heat baseball 2k4 & it was runnin kinda slow so I tried to update to the new 43.45 nvidia drivers. Right away when it restarted i got BSODs and it was unstable so I reverted back to older drivers. I attributed it to it being an older card. Anyways I went back to my box and updated the drivers. After a restart it was fine and had it running fine for some hours. I installed dx9 as well. However last night it started to crash and lockup, after the 2nd I just turned it off as it was late. This morning I started up and it didn't start up, didn't even post. There's a signal, but just a blank screen. I took out the card and started it up again and I could hear the HD boot up and then load up windows. I tried to clear the cmos but still didn't work. Any ideas? Will I need a Pci card to boot into windows and remove the drivers? I don't see how software drivers can interfere with fundamental functions in booting.

If you cant even see your system bios apon startup, then you've got other problems. Even though this all happened around the same time you updated your drivers and installed DX9, I would be thinking about a failing power supply unit. A failing PSU can cause the funky behavior your describing, slow downs and lock ups...then failing to post...but waite and see what the general concensus of the rest ofthe forum is....

It's not the PS, I bought a new one, 400w, a couple months ago. Posting isn't the problem, since w/o the card the comp boots n loads up windows and works fine and dandy. its when I try to boot up with the card installed that i get a blank screen w/o any os booting.

OK..just humor me here...pull all of your pci cards out, leaving only your video card in the machine. Then see if it will post. It might be a pain in the arse but I have had a similar problem at one point.
