I have just got my Sapphire 9700pro. I only get 8600 marks in 3dmark 2001 and 2000 in 3dmark 03, this is very low for this card isn't it? I changed a few settings to begin with, i set the card to highest quality instead of balnced and changed it to AGP 8x rather than 4x. I also changed the AGP aperture size to 128 from 64. Does anyone have any ideas why my scores are so low?

The card seems to be pretty hot to touch, is this normal?

Help and advice would be much appreciated.

Change all the settings to fastest performance..

Then set Antialiasing and Antisotropic to application preference...

Then when you run 3DMark...don't run it with antialiasing...

As far as the heat problem...how many case fans do you have?

And also..try running it on it's own power connection...meaning..have no other devices connected to the same power line...don't know if this will make a difference..but try it anyhow...

you IDIOT!
you freaking turned it on HIGHEST QUALITY in the ATI control panel.
this is not how people benchmark cards when u see results on sites like this one.
Turn Anti-Aliasing and Anisotropic filtering ALL THE WAY OFF!
Then turn the mip-mapping detail level to highest, and the other thing right next to that to highest.
j00 4r3 dumb f001.

J/K noone flame me! j00 4r3 just a n00b thats all, everyones a n00b at some time.
But if its running slow, WTF would you turn UP the settings? just seems like common sense to me...

I love you.

Long live ATI.

ROFL. I just busted a gut at work.
