From what I gather, you upgraded Ram because the PC will not boot.

Why did you upgrade Ram though ? How many Ram modules do you have in the PC ?

With regards to the BIOS upgrade with Windows Vista, I will suggest you just download it and run it with Windows 7.

If you have a problem doing that, you will need to run it in Windows Vista compatibility mode on Windows 7 and that should do the trick

But again with you BSOD issue, I have a feeling you have the wrong RAM Pair but maybe a BIOS upgrade should fix that issue

Well at first my hp was fine then it wouldn'tboot because of the ram.
I took the old ram out and the New DDR2 PC2 5300 2GB Module in.
Now My pc boots into windows 7 but it sometimes crashed or gets "windows recovered from an un expectd shutdown"
My HP Pavillion A6305.uk suports DDR2 PC2 5300 and DDR2 PC2 6400

Oh and i tried installingthe bios update it saide i don't meet the mininum requirements error 9998
I also tried n vista compatability mode
December 12, 2012 11:01:39 AM

Error 9998 basically means your system has the latest BIOS update or does not need that particular update.

Can you post here the Old and New Ram specifications ?

I need Model Numbers, Brand names and any other info you can find on the Modules

Well the old one was a 1gb module says:
HYS64T128020EU-3S-B2
Assembled In China
1GB 2Rx8 PC2 5300U-555-12-E0
Has no brand

New One says:
2GB PC2 5300 Offtek memory
December 12, 2012 10:08:54 PM

I believe the originals are Qimonda Brand. Are the Offtek Rams Brand New ?

Also, please check something for me. How many chips are on both Ram Modules ? Basically if you look on the Ram there are these square blocks on both sides or one side, please count the number of square blocks on the front and back of each Ram Module
December 13, 2012 11:17:24 AM

Yes the OffTek RAM is brand new got it 6 days ago.
Both Modules have 16 Black squares on them 8 on each side

Have you tried installing the Ram in a different slot on the Motherboard ?

If you haven't, I will suggest you do that for each slot, then try to replicate the BSOD

I am sure its either some sort of an incompatibility issue or bad Ram but lets not jump to any conclusion here.

Try what I suggested above and lets see what happens. You should go for known brand Rams next time as what you have now creates the kind of issues you are having, but then again, I have had the same issue even with Kingston Ram Modules.

Such a bad idea.
Tried no the system has some kind of black screen bios error.
It trys to detect drives but it doesnt detect the hard drive.
It is some kind of "BIOS CHECKSUM ERROR"
And what is replicating the BSOD?
Please need an answer fast just bought agame and i really wanna play it (im super raging) :fou:  :fou:  :fou:  :fou:  :fou:  :fou:

Sorry I don't understand the message you just posted.

What is the bad idea ?

Replicating BSOD basically means try swapping Rams in different slots, then use the PC and see if the BSOD appears again.

When does this BSOD normally occur ? During Boot, Normal use or Gaming ?

The error you are seeing is due to an incorrect BIOS flash. Probably due to your attempt to flash the BIOS earlier.

Please refer to the article below to fix the issue :

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01...

Most of the time, a BIOS battery pull for 15 Minutes should fix that issue for you. Take out the BIOS battery from the motherboard for 15 minutes, insert it back, turn on your PC, go into BIOS again to change date, time and restore other settings to default and that should sort this out. Whiles you are at that, you might want to replace that BIOS battery when you can

I haven't attempted to flash the bios. Also this problem occured when i changed the ram to the different slots.
its back in it's original slot. The BSOD happens sometimes during boot sometime whilst browsing and when im playing runescape (my PC is crap I am planning to stick to it till my bday and build an intel rig) i also took out the little circle lithium battery out of the Motherboard for 10mins adn still same error i have gone from bad to worse!dd

I was referring to this. You indicated trying to install a BIOS update.

Yeh but after that failed update my pc would work and restart and stuff. But as soon as i switch the ram slots in got that error and i put my windows 7 disc and it doesn't load it
December 15, 2012 11:01:14 AM

I have replaced the ram i just need to fix this error screen.
Things i have done:
Replace the CMOS
Take out the CMOS
Reset the jumper

Non worked and it says it going to boot from the disc but it doesn't?

December 15, 2012 5:17:54 PM

Also i inserted the window 7 disc in and 5mins later the error screen went off and it said not enough physical memory allocated for windows boot manager?

Thanks
!
