I'm confused about this card. I've been searching the net but there are hardly any reviews on it. To add insult to injury, the ATi official site doesn't even list them!

So far, from what I read in forums, I gathered that it's the same chip as the 8500LE with a new clock setting.

However, I also read that some companies (like Sapphire) are actually shipping these cards with lower clock speeds, hence making them slower than an original 8500LE.

And, to make it more confusing, I've read that the 9100 runs over the 9000PRO regardless of clock speed.

Can anyone confirm any of this? Is the 9100 actually slower than the 8500LE? Is it so much better than the 9000PRO? Are there any benchmarks of it online?

Sorry for all the questions, but I'd love to make sense of all of this...

Radeon 9100 is the renamed Radeon 8500 because Radeon 8500 actually outperformed Radeon 9000 but the difference is not something huge.

You never know how stupid you are until you have done something stupid enough for you to realize it.

If you can afford it go for the 9500 Pro. Otherwise the 9100 is a good price/performer still.

The aim of military training is not just to prepare men for battle, but to make them long for it. MY SYSTEM

in eastern canada, i can purchase a 9100 for about 110 dollars..clocked at 230/230

despite the clocks, it is still mucho faster than a GFMX.. any version. and the MX460 is over 200 bucks here.

so yeah, its a great deal for the price. ATI at least knows how to price their cards, not charging 230 bucks for an entry lvl model like *some* manufactureres do

futhermore, you can overclock it to a "normal" clock speed without any problem, I'm pretty sure of it
my 8500LE clocked at 250/230, I overclock it to 250/250 without any issue, I should be able to go up around 290/270
so, don't worry, if they are clocked less, just oc them back~

from what I know, 9200 is like 9000, which is based on 8500 (R200 based), 9000 is RV250, R9200 is RV280
what's better on R9200 is its higher clock speed and support for AGP8X
I'm sure that Radeon9200 (no Pro version) will not be able to beat Radeon9100, therefore not Radeon8500
but Radeon9200 Pro, I couldn't tell yet, cuz no one did compare them
I think it might not be able to, because it has only one texturing unit per pipe
Conclusion is, 9200 is upgraded 9000, unlike 9100, comes from 8500
