Any chance of the new site including some logic to deal with all of the "free" product key requests such as suggested in this thread?

Better yet, make it a dynamic list of nasty keyphrases to automatically flag threads. That way it can be edited easily.

Agreed. Once the logic is coded, the filters could be as flexible as needed. Could also be used to screen for flame wars as name calling ensues.

Or some kinda script that just locks the thread automagically.

Hopefully also sending the OP a message as to why to stop them posting another thread. Could it also be extended to password help requests?

Let's not give the software too much power. Do you really trust it that much? ;)

They wouldn't read that anyway. These sort of people are drive by users who have no interest in anything that constitutes participation in the forum.

There will be a junk detector in place, but it might not pick up topics like that. We have to be careful not to make all our moderators obsolete, after all. ;)

The mods would still be relevant as the logic would likely flag some legitimate requests that they would have to release. Really, it just saves members from screening threads and passing them to the mods.

Hopefully it will work to reduce the number of spam attacks we experience over a year. What are some other suggested features you guys would like to see, post-launch?

From what I've seen, the search functionality has definitely improved. The new platform includes filtering, too. Give it a try while you are beta testing and let us know what you think.
