Well, I have a Dell Inspiron 8200 that has served me quite well, but the fact is that it is obviously aging. I was wondering what my best option for upgrading the video card is. I currently have the GeForce 440 Go 64 MB card. I know that options include the Ati RM 9000, and possibly the Quaddro 700 (?). What is my best option? Should I upgrade what type of improvement can I expect? Any and all answers are greatly appreciated.

The M9 will score you about 7500 3DMarks in 2001SE (to illustrate the difference between that and your existing GF4Go card). However, the Quadro 4 Go 700 is the best solution I believe: It is basically a GeForce 4 Go 4200 that is clocked down, and fits in an 8200. If you get the driver hacks, you can make it behave like a 4200 as well. You can expect up to 9000 3DMarks in 2001SE. I take it you know the procedure, and how to flash your Bios and everything so that your systems accepts the new card.

for more info you may want to check the dell inspiron/video forums

I hear that dell has been giving people a hard time about ordering either the quattro or ati 9000 card for the 8200, so you may want to check there for clues as to what to tell Dell Spare Parts when you call them.
