It should start charging. Just plug it in, then start playing songs or do anything you want on it, (as long as it is on) Then it will eventually start charging.

oh yea, it should be on, but press the top button and it will go to your menu, and you can do anything, and it will charge. The mp3 thingy will not show up on the computer... Just saying
