How can you tell how much power your computer has(the power necessary to support a specific video card) ? Most new cards require a rating of 300. I have Norton Utilities System Info + the Windows 98SE accessories system information. Where does it show my power source ? Thanks.

Some of the cards say they "<b>recommend</b> a 300-Watt power supply or greater to ensure normal system operation<b> where a number of other internal devices are installed</b>." So it may not be necessary. You can always email the respective company as well. I was told for example I would be fine running a 9500pro (which requires an connection to the power supply) by ATI eventhough I have a weak power supply.

how many peripherals do you have as of now in your computer? If you are not running to many different devices, you can pull it off with a weaker PSU. My computer is running 3HDDs, 1 CDRW, Radeon 7500, and am running a 300w PSU, so I guess it just depends on how much stuff you plan on running.
