headaches, eye twitches, etc... sure... I don't get them anymore, first because I got a better monitor at home and because I started exercising my eyes a bit at work... but it can happen for sure...
the lighting and contrast have to be good -- that's more important then people think; the monitor's refresh rate has to be good, adjust the size of the fonts etc, take regular breaks and focus on something outside of the monitor -- first something close, then something in the distance, and rotate for a while. Also, while you're working, make sure you blink often enough, as well as move your eyes around -- even if you're reading a lengthy document or whatever, shift the eyes every minute or two to something outside the monitor.
They say green is also a good colour -- don't ask me why -- but if you have plants outside of the cubicle or something, focus on them for a while I suppose
My brother has epilepsy and his neurosurgeon his told him to avoid cheap moniters altogether, which is why he has a $2000 Trinitron, Refresh rates, flickering ect can really screw up your eyes and brain, when I do 3d graphics work my eyes get really sore and dry,. so I have a fiter which helps a lot.
I read that LCD’s are the easiest on the eyes. They do look nice and don’t beam electrons at you. Just to dam expensive for a 19’’. Dose anyone have experience working with both? Let us know if u think there worth the ca$h.
