Xps 15 l502x i7 vs xps 15z i7

Hi,

I'm a 3D animator and i uses Maya software often for modeling, animation and rendering. I also do movie editing so i need to run After effects, Premier and Photoshop all together. i have a good desktop PC but i want a strong laptop as well so i can work when i'm on the go or abroad.

I've decided to go with Dell, but i can't decide between these two laptops-

There is no price issue, so its all about the most suitable performance for me.

I know the xps 15 has a better screen and better color contrast, and better speakers quality than the xps 15z.
on the other hand the xps 15z is lighter which is a good advantage, it has a lot more buttery life, and overall a very strong laptop for his size.. but has a heating issue witch concern me..

No. 1 outperform No. 2. So if you are making your decision based on performance. Go with No. 1.

Nbr 2 is lighter and has longer battery life.
If that's most important to you choose XPS 15z.

 

[DelroyMonjo]

2670QM has 4 cores, 2640M has 2 cores. I'd suggest the 4 core for your purposes.
CPU speed won't make up for the 2 extra cores.
