This weekend I recieved an 8400 and a 1905FP. The screen looks good except
in the lighter blue background screens and when the IE browse is up. The
upper left corner has a white/lighter tinge to it also, the fonts on alot
of the text seem to be fuzzy. At first I thought this must be one of those
situations concerning back lighting problems I have heard about with
reguards to the 1905FP. I connected My Nokia 446Xpro to the 8400 with
windows XPMCE . The same discrepancies I see on the 1905FP, I see on the
Nokia. I am starting to think I have a Video card problem, I have installed
the latest drivers and reseated the video card no difference. I then
connected the 1905FP to the my XPS r450 with a ATI RAGE pro card (analog)
and windows 98SE installed one of it's available drivers while I did see
some backlighting inconsistancies none were anywhere near the magnitude or
obvious as when hooked up to the 8400 and the Radeon X300Se.

Something else I don't quite understand is that when MCE is booting up and I
have only the DVI cable connected it quickly reports that digital is not
available so, it continues to boot and when I check the Display status it
reports Digital input 1280x1024 60hz . does it sound like a Video Card any
suggestions greatly appreciated. I just thought I'd post before seeking
online help from Dell reps.

Thanks
Mike
