Go with the 9100, the 5200 is shittacular and so are MX's

R9100, you'd be a fool to buy anything else

I'd get a GeForce4 Ti 4200 64MB if you want performance cheap ($118 on <A HREF="http://www.newegg.com/app/listProduct.asp?DEPA=1&submit=manufactory&catalog=48&manufactory=1283&description=" target="_new">Newegg</A> for Abit Siluro). I have one and it runs new games like Freelancer and UT2K3 just fine.

I haven't seen any, but it's also almost impossible to find a review of the 5200 non-ultra to start with. Here's one:

<A HREF="http://www.hardware.fr/art/imprimer/457/" target="_new">http://www.hardware.fr/art/imprimer/457/</A>

It has both the 5200 ultra and non-ultra, but oddly only compares it to the Radeon 9000 nonpro, pro and 9500 pro. Still, from the game scores you can see the 9000 Pro is clearly superior to the 5200 non-ultra without AA/AF, and the 5200 dominates with AA/AF. Notice that the 5200 non-ultra is about 25% slower than the ultra.

Since the 9100 is faster than the 9000 (and there's plenty of reviews that compare the two of those), it's a safe bet the 9100 is a better buy than the FX 5200 (especially since the 9100 is cheaper and more commonly available).

Where does good judgement come from? Experience. Where does experience come from? Bad judgement.

I say Radeon9100 would be a better choice, it beats FX5200
but not quite sure what happens if they are rendering DX9 API, but I think 9100 would still win FX5200
I've heard that Detonator for FX is coming out soon..maybe you should wait a bit to see how it performs with new driver, then make ur decision

yeah very good idea NightL~~~

the new drivers may change everything..
but as for now 9100 or TI4200 are the best deals IMO
