I need a good low cost video card. Under $100.00 if possible. Right now I'm looking at a Ati 9000 pro. Good, Bad, do you have a better suggestion?

Go to www.Pricewatch.com and they will have varieties of GFX Cards under $100.00. The 9000Pro is 84 dollars over there.

yes, Radeon9000Pro is your choice, but make sure you got the right clocked speed (275/275), to give you higher performance, otherwise like other people said, get Radeon8500LE/9100/8500
Maybe also the 9200 that is coming soon..but I'm not quite sure how good is it yet

actualy, the 9200 is pretty decent.. about par with a 9000pro. depends onhowmuch it will cost.. if its more than a 9000pro / 9100 dont get it, bcause the 9100 isthe best equipped ofthe series now

Tombance...the 9100 and the 8500 isnt the same thing.....the 9100 is clocked slower and has a missing ramdac, so no multimonitor support...=8500LE

Get a GFX 5200 at Newegg.com

Is it all about performance? Or do you care about a product THAT WORKS and drivers that work?

Besides the FX 5200 beats the lower Radeons easily including 9100.

Or even go Geforce Ti 4200. Those are GREAT cards, highly performing. Although Ive upgraded because I need ULTIMATE performance, I admit the Nvidia Geforce Ti4200 ran every game nicely....

The guy above me is joking right?........haha? I'm might be falling prey to one of the forum jokes, but let me just say this.....YOU ARE STOOPID!.....the 9100 is at least 3 times faster then the 5200.

Thanks to everyone that has posted.
It seems like most would chose the 9000pro or the 9100. I have been looking at prices and there not that big of a gap between the two. So what is the difference between them.

I just got a Soltek SL-75FRN-RL, I play some games, and do a lot of ripping.

That is correct , but ,add some ramsinks and it can overclock well beyond 8500LE and non-LE speeds.
Even without the ramsinks you can still pull some impressive overclocking results from the core. (my results were on a sapphire 64Mb 9100 atlantis $187 AUD) 315 core and 290 mem

this system (with the 9100) is only on a soc 370 oc'd celeron 1.1 @1.46 on 256 MB of pc133.
I don't have a link to give but if memory serves me I got around the 6800 mark the last time I benched this system. Fairly poor I know but I'm waiting for a RMA HDD so I can get my other new system ,that has had every set back known to man, up and running again .
If you really want to compare then I guess I can do a quick benchie for you...?

Btw I didn't mean the 9100 ocs better then 8500Le , only that you can oc a 9100 to be faster then a 8500LE @stock speeds, and from the prices I've seen over here (AUST) the 9100 is cheaper (probably because of the lack of dual display that you mentioned?)

Thanks to all.

I went with the 9100, $71.00 including shipping. I still need a good HSF, so I'll use the $29.00 I have left for that.
